The math we learn in school is useful for science, engineering, and many other areas. But what about doing math just for math’s sake? In this camp, you’ll explore a new side of math that you don’t see in school – and maybe discover a new joy in math along the way. 

The theme? Games: board games, card games, pencil & paper games and hand games. If you are a math lover or a game lover, you’ll be sure to appreciate this camp!

Designed and facilitated by, , this camp will aim to help you appreciate math in a fresh, engaging, and appropriately challenging experience for all campers, regardless of your affinity for school math. Math skeptics and math lovers are all welcome here!

You will learn about coding, how to design engaging games and algorithmic thinking skills. Everything you make will be visual, creative, and playable from day one!

Monday July 29 - Friday August 2, 2024

9:00am-4:00pm.

Who?

This camp is for students aged 10-12 years.

Cost

The camp fee is $500 (including taxes).

If the fee is a barrier to your participation, a limited number of bursaries are available for eligible families - please email camps@visst.ca to inquire.

Where?

The Vancouver School for Science and Technology (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½): 1490 West Broadway, Vancouver.

Additional Notes

Students should bring their own laptops. We have a limited number of laptops available at the school. If you need to borrow one, please email us for availability.

Refund policy: Email us at least 1 week (7 days) prior to the start of the camp for a full refund.
