The TEAS was developed to measure basic skills in Reading, Mathematics, Science, English, and Language Usage. It is a 170-item multiple choice assessment.

2021-2022 NLN NACE Testing for the Nursing – Advanced Placement (NAP) Associate Degree
Students applying for the Nursing – Advanced Placement (NAP) Associate Degree option at ϲվ are required to complete the National League for Nursing (NLN) Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exam.
Students applying for the first year of Nursing (Spring semester) are required to take the NACE I: Foundations of Nursing exam. Students will need to obtain a minimum score of 74% or higher to be considered for admission to the program. Students applying to join any other semester will be advised by the Nursing Department on the appropriate NACE exam to take.

The NACE exams can be taken up to three (3) times per year, but examinees must wait a minimum of six (6) weeks between exam sessions. Examinees may select their own exam date; however, it is the responsibility of the student to schedule their exam prior to the application deadline and following these retake guidelines. Please note that test scores will be valid for one (1) year only. The exams are computer-based and proctored remotely by the NLN.
The exams will be administered on-line by the NLN utilizing , an internet based remote proctoring software. Examinees are required to create a new NLN student account and register for the appropriate NACE exam with the NLN directly. Students are responsible for reviewing the NLN Student Guide for HyFlex Testing and following the directions to create their NLN student account.
How to Register:
Examinees need to use NCC’S unique URL link to create the NLN student account; the link is included on the last page of this document. You MUST choose the appropriate NACE Exam and use the school link, or otherwise scores will not be connected to NCC and may result in students having to retake and repay for the exam.
Students with disabilities requesting special accommodations for testing must contact Jodi Quinn, Accessibility Services Coordinator, at 603.578.8900 ext.1451 or [email protected] to learn about the process for requesting accommodations and providing the required documentation to support the request. Students should NOT purchase their exam until the accommodation request has been evaluated. Allow at least two weeks to complete the approval process and plan accordingly.
Examinee Expectations:
Examinees MUST review the “NLN Student Guide for HyFlex Testing” PDF. The Student Guide will outline technical and system requirements for completing the exam using Proctorio, as well as the process of creating an account, purchasing, and registering for an exam, and what examinees need to do before they begin their test.
Examinees must follow the testing guidelines set forth by the NLN when completing their NLN exam remotely from home. Failure to do so is grounds to stop the exam and/or invalidate your exam scores. Be sure to review the testing requirements outlined in the NLN Student Guide prior to your exam.

About the NACE-H-NRF_1 & How to Prepare:
The H-NRF_1: Foundations of Nursing exam includes content related to nursing care to meet basic physiological and psychosocial needs. H-NRF_1 questions are written in the framework of the nursing process. This reflects the current approach for providing care to clients. For purposes of the H-NRF_1, the steps of the nursing process are defined as follows:
- Assessing – includes collecting physical, emotional, and cultural data; and recognizing signs, symptoms and
Analyzing – includes interpreting data, identifying clients’ needs and making nursing - Planning – includes setting goals, selecting measures for care and identifying correct techniques for giving care.
- Implementing – includes responding appropriately to clients’ needs for nursing care and using effective communication when giving information and/or teaching.
- Evaluating – includes recognizing intended and unintended effects of measures and treatments, determining evidence of clients’ compliance with treatment plans and determining evidence of clients’ response to measure and treatment.
The NLN does not publish a review guide for this exam; however, the Nursing Department recommends that students utilize their LPN course books and NCLEX-PN study guides to prepare for taking the exam. In addition, the NLN has supplied the following outline of exam content for examinee’s reference.
The H-NRF_1 exam has individual questions involving clients who have common health problems. The nursing process – assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing and evaluating – is applied in items throughout the test. Dear Candidate,
In preparation for your upcoming NLN Exam it is very important that you take a few moments and review the attached NLN Student Guide for Testing with HyFlex Proctorio (PDF). This guide will provide you with everything you need to create your new NLN account, purchase prep materials, practice exams, take your actual test, and access your scores.
There are a few things you need to know about HyFlex Proctorio Exams:
1.) You must have a working camera and microphone available on your computer or laptop.
You must have a strong internet connection (see system requirements) 2.) You must use Google Chrome when taking the exam.
3.) You will be required to download the Proctorio Extension onto your account.
4.) There is NO SCHEDULING required for this exam. Simply purchase: and take it when you are ready to do so but be sure to review the testing environment requirements in the guide.
5.) There is a calculator and whiteboard in the exam for use during the exam – no other tools are allowed.
6.) If you need ADA Accommodations our policy has changed as of 1-11-21. Please review the process in the student guide.
7.) If you set up your account as instructed in this guide, you will not need to have your scores sent to your institution, they will receive them automatically.

Self – Certification on Application – ϲվ provides students you with the opportunity to self-certify on your application that you have graduated or will graduate from high school or have received the equivalent of a high school diploma (For example: an accredited alternative diploma program, HiSET or GET) by the start date of the semester for which you are applying. While you are given the opportunity to self-certify, transcripts may be used in course placement and used as proof of successful completion of specific courses; therefore, you are encouraged to submit transcripts in order to be accurately placed into college courses.

Important Information:
If you have transfer credits in Anatomy and Physiology I & II and Microbiology, they must be no more than five years old from the start of the first nursing course with a minimum grade of ‘C+’.Introduction to Psychology and Human Growth & Development must have a minimum grade of ‘C+’.

ATI FUNDAMENTALS EXAM After receiving confirmation of program alignment, register to take the ATI Fundamentals Exam and attain a level 2 score or better.

Submit a letter of reference on school letterhead from the director of the nursing program at the previous school.
All nursing courses must be completed with five (5) years of the date of entry into the first nursing course.
Completion of the ASN degree does not guarantee RN licensure.
Students must follow the program of study requirements as published in the College Catalog in the academic year of their acceptance into the ASN Program. In the event of a curriculum change prior to completion and phasing out of previous courses, the student may be required to repeat one or more courses for placement in the new curriculum.
In order to progress in the program, students must earn a minimum grade of B- in all nursing courses and a minimum grade of C+ in Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology, Introduction to Psychology and Human Growth & Development.
Students who do not meet the criteria for progression may seek reentry into the program at the point of last success with approval from the chair of the department on a space available basis. Re-entry is not guaranteed and students will only be granted one opportunity to reenter the program.
Selection is determined by a cumulative point based system that looks at applicable courses and grades; TEAS scores and references. The Vice President of Student and Community Affairs and the Chair of the Department of Nursing will review applications and make the admission decisions. Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Students who have completed the Pre-Nursing Pathway
- TEAS mean score of 66% or greater
- Total courses completed
- A&P I grade and academic history
- Qualified students who are not accepted in the initial selection process may be assigned to a prioritized waiting list based on the above criteria. They may subsequently be admitted if an opening becomes available. The waiting list will end once classes begin. Applicants still desiring admission must then reapply.
You will be invited to a mandatory nursing orientation to obtain information about required documents that must be submitted prior to beginning the first nursing course. It is understood that acceptance is conditional upon submission of the required documents.
You will be required to complete a criminal background check (specific information to be given at orientation). Individuals with a court record or a criminal conviction may wish to contact the Board(s) of Registration in Nursing in any state in which they plan to work for guidelines.
